We make testing for Legionella bacteria and other waterborne pathogens simple, fast, compliant, and efficient. IWC offers routine testing plans to fit the needs of your building while also helping you stay compliant with the latest mandates.
The IWC Innovations Testing Specialists will work with you to devise a routine preventative Legionella testing plan that fits your needs and preferences while mitigating the risks of Legionella and ensuring maximum safety in your building. Standard Culture Testing
- Gold standard for detecting Legionella
- Results provided in 12-15 days
- CDC ELITE certified and accredited by AIHA-LAP, LLC and/or NYS DOH ELAP
- The health department and CDC recognize culture testing as the Gold Standard for detecting Legionella from environmental sources. When working with the Department of Health, they will most likely require culture testing.

Waterborne Pathogen Testing
Aside from Legionella, there are many waterborne pathogens in our water that could contribute to serious disease. Some of those include Nontuberculous Mycobacteria (NTM), E. coli, and many other pathogens that could be identified through routine water testing and could prevent outbreaks at your building. The IWC Innovations Testing Team makes testing for all of these waterborne pathogens easy and includes result interpretation with all testing.
Lead & Copper Testing
The IWC Innovations Testing Program includes lead and copper testing, as well. Being preventative with identification of these metals in your water is an important step to the safety of those in your building.

Can proactive water testing expose me to more liability?
Proactive water testing is encouraged and does not carry any penalties if Legionella is discovered in the water system. The benefit if Legionella is discovered is that action can be taken more quickly to prevent an outbreak of Legionnaires' Disease. It provides an opportunity to investigate the source and determine a root cause regarding the water system, so that corrective measures can be put in place to avoid any potential harm.
Facilities are not required to report any proactive water testing results to the Department of Health, unless it is part of a Case Investigation, prior testing requirement from the DOH, or from a healthcare facility in the state of New York.
